Car production will increase from more than 87 million in 2014 to 104 million in 2020, and the market share of emerging countries will rise from 45% to 60%. China will produce 30 million cars, more than North America and Western Europe combined. 450 million airbags will be produced in 2017, a jump of 70 million in three years.
Upholstered furniture production has almost doubled over the last ten years. Asia-Pacific now represents 55% of global output (46% in China alone), Europe 27% and North America 14%. Growth will continue to be driven by domestic consumption in emerging markets.
